Our Experience
Calico Beardtongue has done well in a dappled shade area of our butterfly habitat that receives about 2-3 hours of midday sun. The plant grows between 4-5 tall and flops a bit due to the weight of the flowers. It has not been eaten by deer or other critters. We’ve not noticed much insect activity on it, but it is in a darker area for most of the day and the insects generally prefer to visit flowers in sunnier locations.
