Our Experience
We recommend planting this in a location where it will be supported by other plants or a fence if you wish for the plants to remain erect when flowering. The plants do get tall so having them droop down is not necessarily a bad thing!
When a flower attracts a lot of butterfly and insect activity we take notice. Cup Plant is a magnet for both large and small butterflies. We noticed that the Grass Skippers love it just as much as the Swallowtails.
All of the action taking place on this plant attracted the attention of a praying mantis who took up residence. I realized it was missing a leg segment after I took the photo and was processing it.
