Our Experience

We are looking forward to adding this North Carolina native to our habitat as a host plant for the Eastern Black Swallowtail! It had proven to be a challenge to germinate from seed but we think we might have unlock its secrets.

It will be interesting to see how it works as a host plant. We have lot of choices for female Black Swallowtails to choose from. I’m thinking the leaf green leaves will be an excellent food source for hungry caterpillars.
