Description

We have have grown New York Ironweed in our habitat almost since the beginning. It thrives on our benign neglect. Over the years we have added multiple species of Vernonia. One year in the spring we noticed some self-sown seedlings that looked like a Vernonia but didn’t quite match any of the known ones we grow. Our mystery plant looked a bit like NY Ironweed and a bit like Tall Ironweed. We concluded it might have been a natural hybrid of the two.
