We are in absolute love with this species of Monarda! Not only is it a pollinator favorite, it’s quite eye-catching! It’s like something out of a Dr. Seuss world of strange plants.
We planted ours in the fall of 2019 and had totally forgotten about it until a large, mysterious and unlabeled plant appeared in the Monarda patch. Thankfully we were able to deduce what it was.
The plant eventually topped out at around 3 feet with about a 3-4 foot spread. Numerous stalks of flowers made for an impressive display of floral goodness. We plan to plant more of them throughout the habitat and highly recommend this plant be added to your garden or habitat.
